3C products are main force of domestic electronics information products. Yield accounts for 90% of total output. With development of digital and information technology, popularization of computers and internet, bounds among information equipments becomes vague. 3C products interconnection and convergence service becomes common trend of global electronics information industry development. Birth of IGRS will provide powerful support for traditional 3C enterprise to adjust products structure, increasing products value-added, and carry out differentiation competition. Meanwhile, IGRS industry association motivates Zhongguancun industry development.
IGRS was standard organization and industry alliance initiated and set up by eight big-scale domestic information enterprises, Lenovo, TCL, Great Wall, CHAGNHONG, Skyworth, Hisense, KONKA, and Zhonghewei in 2003 under support of National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Industry and information, relevant government sections of Beijing. The core task is to make and promote independent 3C-convergence technology standard of our country. IGRS is the first company initiated by big enterprises, based on core technology research and development and standard making, and takes big-scale scientific and research results transformation. IGRS takes the lead to try innovation by standard work team. Practice verifies that IGRS model has become an example of Chinese enterprise joint innovation, and creates a road of enterprises joint innovation.
As standard organization and industry association of Zhongguancun scientific and technological zone, IGRS standard leads industry upgrade of Zhongguancun, and becomes advantage of Zhongguancun high & new technology of Zhongguancun. With guideline of cutting-edge, highly efficient, broad covering, and guarantee of innovation mechanism, work is conducted in standard making, international cooperation and association construction. After six years’ endeavor, series of important achievements and breakthrough were made based on IGRS standard:
1. Gradually mature standard system. IGRS has developed into relatively complete and mature 3C-convergence standard system. On July 28, 2008, one more international standard proposal of China IGRS, IGRS Base Agreement Standard, passed officially. It symbols China IGRS standard system was fully accepted by ISO/IEC, and laid important foundation for China IGRS internationalization, and won right to speak for our enterprises in 3C-convergence technology field.
2. Global leading core technology. IGRS commits itself to IGRS standard basic technology and core technology research since establishment. Series of breakthrough were made in network equipments discovery, identification and accreditation technology, stream media wireless allocation, real time transcoding and content protection technology. Technology system was preliminarily formed that can be exchanged and transferred with developed countries. Meanwhile, IGRS set up a complete patent system and licensing model and there are two hundred and forty patents for invention related to IGRS standard.
3. Most influential industry association. Currently, IGRS attracts one hundred and twenty two domestic and overseas famous enterprises and scientific research institutes to join, covering 41.7% of domestic computer industry market share, 84.3% of TV industry market share, 46% of cell phone market share and 50% of major appliance market share, becoming the most representative and leading industry association in domestic 3C-convergecne field.
3. Unceasingly abundant terminals products. Under motivation of IGRS member enterprises, currently there are precuts of more than twenty types in the market, IGRS laptop, TV, cell phone, projector, and high-definition player. Sales volume exceeds ten million. Direct economic value added exceeds two billion.
4. Deep international recognition. IGRS takes internationalization as important developing goal of itself. IGRS establishes good relationship with international organizations, like DLNA, UPnP, IPv6 Forum, and submits proposals to DLNA and ISO, etc many times. Meanwhile, on behalf of China, IGRS and Japan ECHONET and Korea HNF set up AHNC, laying a foundation for uniform home network standard in Asian areas.
